Yu Yunfeng Visits Sino-Foreign Language Exchange Center

On July 10, Yu Yunfeng, the Party Secretary and Director of the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education, visited our school to engage in discussions regarding the integration of artificial intelligence into international Chinese language education and the global promotion of Chinese culture.

During this visit, Vice Chancellor Zhou Jianghong welcomed Yu Yunfeng and his team, expressing gratitude for the ongoing support and guidance from the Ministry of Education's Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center. Zhou provided an overview of the school's operational status, its initiatives in international Chinese language education, and its efforts in disseminating Chinese culture overseas.

The conference featured presentations by Chen Wenzhi, Director of the Information Technology Center, and Wang Yufen, Executive Vice Dean of the School of International Education. They highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing educational practices within the school and detailed the initiatives focused on digitally enhancing international Chinese language education.

Yu Yunfeng commended our school for its accomplishments in studying abroad programs and for leveraging artificial intelligence to enrich educational methodologies. He emphasized that international Chinese language education is currently presented with unique opportunities, fueled by a robust global demand for learning the language and a pressing need to incorporate AI technology to advance online teaching methods.

The discussions encompassed a variety of critical topics including the development of international Chinese language education programs, the cultivation of “Chinese+professional” talent, digital transformations, and the creation of teaching resources. Both parties expressed a commitment to strengthening collaboration and exploring innovative models for language exchange and cooperation between China and international partners.

Accompanying Yu Yunfeng were Liu Jianqing, Deputy Director of the Sino-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center, Ding Liguo, Director of the Exchange Department, and Lan Jingjing, Director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education. Officials from our International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Information Technology Center, and the School of International Education also participated in the discussions.

Prior to the symposium, Yu Yunfeng and his delegation toured the Zhejiang University History Museum and the Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Student Innovation Practice Base, further showcasing the emphasis on innovation and technology in education.

This visit represents a significant step towards enhancing international cooperation in language education, reflecting the increasing importance of digital technologies in learning environments.
