On November 12, 2025, the International Education College conducted a fire evacuation drill aimed at enhancing safety awareness and response capabilities among both teachers and students. This important event took place at the Yuquan Zhu Kezhen International Education Building and was organized in collaboration with the Security Office.

The drill commenced at 2:25 PM, simulating a real fire emergency situation. As smoke bombs were deployed, the emergency broadcast system was activated, prompting immediate action. Participants, including faculty and students, promptly followed the evacuation guides' instructions, effectively using damp towels to cover their mouths and noses while they evacuated in a calm and organized manner to the designated safe area.

Following the successful evacuation, Teacher Yu Bo from the Security Office provided valuable feedback on the exercise. He detailed the correct usage of fire extinguishers, ensuring that everyone understood the procedure. In a practical demonstration, Vice Dean Chen Weiying joined international students to operate an electronic virtual fire extinguisher, thereby reinforcing their knowledge and practical skills related to fire safety.

This fire evacuation drill acted as a vital educational tool, offering a realistic experience of emergency management on campus. It provided faculty and students with an invaluable opportunity to deepen their understanding of safety protocols and practice essential fire safety skills, which are crucial for maintaining a safe and harmonious campus environment.

Overall, the event served not only as a practical safety education course but also as a crucial assessment of the campus's emergency management capabilities. Participants emerged from the drill with a reinforced commitment to safety, ready to apply their newly acquired knowledge to protect themselves and their peers.

The involvement of key personnel, including Vice Dean Chen Weiying and staff from the Foreign Service Center, highlighted the collaborative approach to campus safety. Their participation underscored the importance of a united front in creating a secure educational environment for all.

Through this engaging and instructive drill, the International Education College successfully contributed to building a culture of safety awareness and preparedness among the campus community. It established a proactive stance towards potential emergencies, thereby ensuring that safety remains a top priority.

As institutions strive for excellence in education, the emphasis on safety measures becomes ever more imperative. Initiatives such as this drill reaffirm the commitment of Zhejiang University to uphold a secure learning atmosphere for both domestic and international students.
