School of International Education Hosts Cadre Presentation

On July 22, 2025, Zhejiang University hosted a significant press conference marking the introduction of a new leadership team for its School of International Education. This event was attended by Zhou Jianghong, the vice-chancellor of the university, who delivered an inspiring speech. Furthermore, Xia Lei, vice-minister of the Organization Department of the Party Committee, presented the official documents regarding the appointments and dismissals within the cadre.

The conference attracted various attendees, including both the incoming and outgoing members of the School of International Education, heads of administrative departments, and representatives from the teaching staff. The event was adeptly overseen by Leung Kwan-ying, who holds multiple roles as Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office, as well as Dean of the School of International Education.

The newly appointed leadership team is comprised of Dean Liang Junying, Executive Vice Dean Wang Yufen, and Vice Deans Chen Ye, Chen Weiying, Yi Honghui, and Chen Nanfei. This restructuring is part of the university's continuous effort to enhance its operational efficiency and strategic focus in international education.

During his address, Zhou Jianghong expressed profound appreciation for the accomplishments of the previous leadership team, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the School of International Education. He articulated three key aspirations for the new leadership: to comprehend fully the strategic missions assigned by the educational powerhouse, to proactively engage in national projects, and to uphold the spirit of integrity and collaboration among the faculty.

The outgoing team members, including Tang Xiaowu, Cheng Lei, Lu Zhengzhong, and Sun Fangjiao, shared heartfelt reflections on their careers during their tenure. They expressed their unwavering support for the decisions made by the school's party committee, while also conveying their intentions to remain engaged with the institution’s future developments.

In their remarks, the new vice deans thanked the organization for the trust placed in them. They pledged to carry out their new responsibilities diligently, fostering a collaborative environment, and dedicating their efforts to advance the educational landscape at the School of International Education.

Leung Kwan-ying, representing the new leadership team, assured support for the appointments made by the school’s party committee. He conveyed gratitude towards the departing members for their long-standing commitment and warmly welcomed the new members. The new team aims to adhere to the overarching leadership paradigm of the Party, and is committed to realizing enhanced educational outcomes for international students.
