On June 6, 2025, the Zhejiang University International Student Admissions Promotion Ambassador Achievement Exhibition took place successfully at Lecture Hall 107, within the Postgraduate Education Complex at Zijingang Campus. This event was a celebration of the innovative approaches and initiatives taken by student ambassadors in promoting the university's international student admissions.
The 2025 campaign for international student admissions at Zhejiang University featured two main participation routes: independent registration and recommendations from colleges or departments. This inclusive approach attracted a diverse range of international students and alumni who actively engaged in the process. Following submissions and evaluations conducted by the School of International Education, ten standout self-registered teams were selected to deliver their presentations during the on-site defense.
Esteemed judges were invited to assess the presentations, including Liu Dantong, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, and representatives from various departments and international collaborations. The judges evaluated the teams based on publicity results, innovation in promotional methods, and overall performance during the defense. Additionally, over 20 students served as public judges, contributing to a comprehensive evaluation of the event.
In his opening remarks, Vice Dean Liu Dantong reflected on the university's progress in attracting international students and lauded the admissions ambassadors for their pivotal role as a bridge in enhancing the 'Study in Zhejiang University' brand. Liu emphasized the importance of their contributions in shaping perceptions of the university globally.
The defense sessions provided an exciting platform where student ambassadors displayed their creativity and results. Notably, the Malaysian team, including members such as Sabrina Lee Jia Yee, organized both online and offline seminars, shared experiences of campus life, and established interactive Q&A sessions on platforms like Xiaohongshu to assist prospective students. Meanwhile, Nepali student Bikash Gyawali created engaging videos highlighting campus culture across social media platforms like YouTube and Instagram, garnering nearly 800,000 views.
Following the presentations, Woo Yet Ha, the honorary president of the Zhejiang University Alumni Association in Malaysia, offered valuable insights and suggestions based on his extensive experience in admissions promotion, tailoring his advice to the characteristics of local students. This insightful engagement further enriched the discussions during the event.
In a special appearance, Wang Kexin from the International Student Admissions Promotion Lecturer Group provided professional critiques of the teams’ performances and shared experiences from international education exhibitions, giving crucial guidance tailored to the needs of the participating teams.
At the conclusion of the event, awards were distributed to recognize outstanding efforts, with two first-place, four second-place, and four third-place winners chosen after rigorous evaluation. Judges and faculty members congratulated the winners by presenting them with honorary certificates.
This exhibition not only highlighted inventive strategies in international student enrollment promotion but also unified the insights of current students and alumni, energizing the 'Study in Zhejiang University' initiative. The university plans to further expand its channels for promoting international admissions, aiming to attract more exceptional students to join their academic community.
The final list of winners for the 2025 Zhejiang University International Student Admissions Promotion Ambassadors will be released after a review of recommendations from the colleges or departments. This anticipation adds an element of excitement for those involved.
