School of International Education Hosts 2025 Alumni Symposium

On the afternoon of May 19, Zhejiang University celebrated its 128th anniversary by hosting an alumni symposium organized by the School of International Education. The gathering brought together over 30 participants, including college leaders, alumni from within China, and international student alumni representatives at the Zijingang campus. The event provided an opportunity for attendees to reminisce about their time at the university and explore plans for the institution's future development. The meeting was presided over by Vice President Lu Zhengzhong.

During the symposium, Executive Vice Dean Wang Yufen expressed gratitude to all guests and alumni for their ongoing support. He highlighted the college's progress and outlined the achievements of the alumni branch over the preceding year. Wang emphasized that alumni represent a crucial driving force for the university’s advancements and are among its most treasured assets. He noted that fostering strong alumni relations is an ongoing effort that requires consistent organizational backing from the school alongside active participation from the alumni community.

Alumni representatives took the opportunity to share their experiences from their time at Zhejiang University and discuss the positive impact it has had on their career trajectories and personal lives. Participants expressed appreciation for the symposium and enthusiasm regarding the university’s recent developments and achievements. They acknowledged the challenges faced by the institution while also voicing their commitment to support its future undertaking.

Dean Leung Kwan-ying attentively listened to the alumni’s presentations before delivering a concluding address. He remarked on Zhejiang University as a high-quality platform for education, encouraging the alumni to excel in their respective countries and fields. Dean Leung invoked a spirit of truth-seeking and pragmatism, underscoring that alumni should pursue their aspirations while ultimately remaining connected to their roots at the university.

He poignantly reminded attendees that they share a common bond as members of the Zhejiang University community, encouraging them to return frequently to their alma mater. Dean Leung’s heartfelt wishes resonated with the alumni as he hoped they would continue to share both the stories of their university and the narrative of China as a whole. His closing remarks reflected a vision for the alumni to strive for excellence while uplifting their university's standing across the globe.
