High-Level International Students Reunite at Zhejiang University

From May 18 to 20, 2025, Zhejiang University served as the host for an enriching academic exchange event that brought together more than 100 high-level international students from 19 esteemed universities across the Yangtze River Delta region. Participating institutions included notable names such as Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and Nanjing University, all converging at the picturesque Zijingang Campus.

The vibrant exchange activities were multifaceted, comprising special reports presented by international student mentors, academic reports tailored for international students, engaging thematic academic salons, and a comprehensive academic poster exhibition. Each activity was designed to enhance the academic literacy and training quality for the participants.

The event featured insightful special reports from distinguished mentors representing the University of Science and Technology of China, Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the China Academy of Art. These presentations focused on vital topics including scientific research methodologies, academic skill enhancement, and optimizing research project management, providing valuable guidance for international students.

In addition to mentor presentations, the exchange program organized four parallel branch sessions dedicated to various subject fields: science and technology, medicine, agriculture, life and environment, and humanities and social sciences. This structure allowed international students to engage in focused academic discussions pertinent to their areas of expertise.

The thematic academic salon further enriched the agenda, featuring discussions on key topics such as international scientific research collaboration, leveraging AI for research efficiency, and strategies for academic career development. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions based on shared interests, fostering intellectual exchanges and growth.

A highlight of the event was the International Student Academic Poster Exhibition, where attendees showcased their remarkable academic achievements through visually engaging posters. This exhibition highlighted not only the students' scholarly accomplishments but also underscored the exceptional quality of academic training available to international students in the region.

The structure and content of the event were meticulously crafted to align with the characteristics of high-level international students, ensuring deep participation from all attendees. Through these exchanges, students benefited from mentor experiences, showcased their exceptional work, and cultivated their academic innovation capabilities.

In addition to the academic pursuits, participants were afforded the opportunity to experience the vibrant culture and modern landscape of Hangzhou. Visits to high-tech enterprises allowed students to witness firsthand the innovative spirit and contemporary advancements shaping the city.

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, reflecting the success of the event in fostering collaboration and mutual learning among young international scholars from the Yangtze River Delta region.

This enriching academic gathering not only facilitated knowledge sharing and networking among students but also played a pivotal role in enhancing their academic journeys, reinforcing the importance of collaboration in a globalized educational landscape.
