2025 Summer Program Updates from School of International Education

2025 Summer Program Updates from School of International Education

The School of International Education has announced its summer schedule for 2025, which marks an important timeframe for both faculty and students. The college's summer vacation is set to run from June 25 until September 11, during which students will have the opportunity to engage in various activities organized by the departments and centers.

International students for the class of 2025 will have registration days on September 9 and 10. Following this, an opening ceremony will take place on September 12, leading into a period of initial education for new international students that runs from September 11 to September 30. Regular registration for continuing students will occur on September 12, with all classes officially beginning on September 15.

For faculty and staff, the summer rotation break is scheduled from July 7 until September 7. During this time, employees will follow a 30-day rotation schedule as planned by their respective departments. Notably, the Foreign Experts and International Student Service Center will manage its own rotation schedule.

While staff members are on rotation, operational continuity is essential. Each department is tasked with ensuring that daily operations run smoothly, with office hours adjusted to 8:30-11:30 am and 2:30-5:30 pm on weekdays throughout the summer.

Faculty and staff planning to travel abroad for personal reasons during this period are required to complete an online approval process for leave cancellation. Failure to secure school approval for international travel or not returning prior to the designated start of the new semester can result in being marked as absent.

To uphold the college’s key objectives for the academic year, departments must prioritize the effective implementation of essential tasks. Preparations for new student registration should be undertaken thoroughly, ensuring that all processes related to the new semester and welcoming of new students are adequately addressed.

Safety management will be a top priority during the summer. Comprehensive self-inspections for potential hazards are to be conducted by every department and center. This includes enhancing safety measures in dormitories and cafeterias, with additional focus on educating students residing on campus about safety practices.

Duty assignments must be organized to guarantee that there are personnel on duty every working day throughout the summer. It is crucial that staff report any significant incidents to their designated leaders promptly, thereby ensuring appropriate measures are taken in a safe manner.

The Office of Integrated Services released the school's summer duty schedule in a document made available to the staff. This is part of the overall coordination aimed at maintaining operational efficacy during the summer break.

The college reinforces its commitment to providing a structured and supportive environment for all attendees and looks forward to a successful upcoming academic year.
