China Government Scholarship 2026 Annual Review Notice

The China National Scholarship Fund Management Committee has announced the commencement of the annual review process for the Chinese Government Scholarship, effective from April 3, 2026. This review plays a critical role in evaluating the moral and academic performance of scholarship recipients.

The evaluation will focus on all students whose scholarships are valid after September 2026, including doctoral candidates whose funding period ends in July 2026 or January 2027 and require an extension due to graduation delays.

Additionally, students whose scholarship was previously suspended due to failing the 2025 review and are seeking reinstatement will also be part of the evaluation process.

The annual review is structured into phases. The first, the Student Self-Assessment Phase, will take place from April 3 to April 25, 2026. During this time, students must access the China Government Scholarship Management Information System, where they will complete the Scholarship Annual Self-Evaluation and submit necessary documentation.

Following this, the Academic Review Phase will occur from April 10 to April 28, 2026. Advisors will evaluate graduate students through the International Student Management System, while undergraduate evaluations will rely on feedback from international student counselors and performance records.

Subsequently, the School Review Phase is scheduled for April 28 to May 10, 2026. Here, the International Education College will conduct a thorough evaluation, considering self-assessments, academic records, and overall behavior, in addition to input from respective departments.

It is essential for students to note that the review results will determine their scholarship statuses. A score of 60 points or above is required for passing, ensuring the continuation of the scholarship. Failing to meet this benchmark will lead to suspension or termination of eligibility.

Students whose scholarship eligibility has been suspended will no longer receive funding starting the next academic year but may apply to continue their studies at their own expense. Moreover, they can participate in the next annual review to potentially reinstate their scholarship.

Conversely, those whose eligibility has been revoked will not have their scholarships reinstated once suspended. Therefore, it is crucial for all recipients to perform diligently in their evaluations.

For further inquiries, students can contact various departments across campuses. The Office of Student Affairs at the Hangzhou campus, along with other administrative offices, provides essential support for inquiries related to the scholarship review.

As the annual review approaches, all scholarship recipients should prepare thoroughly and take advantage of this critical evaluation to ensure their continued funding.
