Adamson University Enhances Accreditation Review Process

Adamson University in the Philippines has come under renewed scrutiny regarding its accreditation process after it was found that some of its doctoral programs did not meet the required minimum duration stipulated for doctorate degrees in accordance with the Sino-Philippine Mutual Recognition Agreement. This review, which was conducted by our center on November 26, 2021, has prompted significant changes at the institution.

Following the comprehensive examination, our center issued a 'Notice of Non-Accreditation' affecting the relevant doctoral candidates. In response, Adamson University undertook revisions to the affected degree certificates and transcripts, adjusting the degree awarding period to better align with national standards.

In accordance with Article 28 of the 'Measures for Accreditation of Academic Degrees Outside the Country (Overseas)', our center has decided to implement an enhanced examination protocol for all certification applications from Adamson University going forward. This enhanced review process will extend the processing time for certification applications to no less than 60 working days from the submission date.

It is important to stress that a degree certificate serves as a legally binding document that reflects an individual's academic qualifications and experiences. The decision to revise degree certificates is of considerable concern, as such actions can undermine the integrity of the educational credentials involved, making them fall short of our center's certification standards.

In light of these developments, it is advised that students studying abroad remain vigilant and keep abreast of any announcements regarding the review process. They should carefully consider their choice of institutions or programs that may be implicated in these ongoing evaluations.
