Austrian Higher Professional Institute Announces New Chinese Name

Starting April 21, 2025, the translation of 'Austrian Fachhochschule' will officially change to 'University of Applied Sciences' in the foreign academic degree certificates issued by Austrian institutions.

This decision comes in response to requests from students studying abroad and follows extensive research conducted by the Ministry of Education's Study Abroad Service Center.

It is important to note that this change will not impact the certification results that have already been issued. Students with prior certificates will not need to seek re-certification.

The center advises that applicants should be prepared to explain this new naming convention to potential employers who may refer to their credentials.
