The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) is set to host the 2025 Global Young Talents Carnival, an event spearheaded by The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) and the Marie Curie Alumni Association. This carnival serves as a platform to unite young talents from across the globe, fostering innovation and collaboration among emerging scholars.
The event is strategically timed during a transformative period in global science and technology, as China commits to becoming a prominent global talent hub under its 'strengthening the nation through talent development' initiative. As an international center for scientific innovation, the GBA is accelerating its efforts to attract top intellectual resources, making this carnival a timely opportunity for networking and partnership.
The Global Young Science and Innovation Talent Carnival comprises two key components: the second 'Co-Creation and Future' International Young Scholars Interdisciplinary Forum and the third Annual Meeting of the Marie Curie Alumni Association (China Chapter). These forums are designed to facilitate high-level discussions, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among prominent scholars and researchers.
Among the highlights of the carnival are efforts to establish a global elite academic exchange network, bringing together outstanding young scholars from leading institutions. Participants will have opportunities to engage with top European scientists and key members from the EU's Horizon Program, providing an exclusive 'green channel' to the European research landscape.
The event will focus on fostering interdisciplinary innovation by covering a wide range of advanced fields, including artificial intelligence, quantum technology, advanced materials, biomedicine, and carbon neutrality. This broad spectrum will encompass innovations across both hard sciences and soft science disciplines, reflecting the GBA's commitment to comprehensive technological advancement.
In addition to academic exchanges, the carnival will offer personalized career development guidance. Attendees will engage in face-to-face discussions with leading scholars, receive application support for Chinese and European research funding, and benefit from tailored match-making services with premier science and innovation enterprises in the GBA.
Participants will also enjoy an immersive experience of the Greater Bay Area's science and innovation ecosystem. They will have the chance to tour the world-class testing facilities at HKUST(GZ), explore the local science and innovation environment in Nansha, Guangzhou, and partake in social activities that celebrate Lingnan culture.
The General Schedule for the carnival indicates it will take place in early August 2025, with specifics to be finalized soon. Attendees can look forward to being hosted at the vibrant HKUST(GZ) campus, conveniently located within easy reach of major airports and transportation hubs.
Those interested in attending should note that seats are limited. The organizers will cover round-trip travel expenses, along with accommodation and meals, for formally invited participants. Registration details can be found through the specified channels, ensuring a smooth process for all prospective attendees.
We invite exceptional young scholars, including postdoctoral researchers from various institutions worldwide, to register and participate in this landmark event. This carnival is an invaluable opportunity to connect resources, generate innovative ideas, and pave the way for future scientific collaborations that will contribute significantly to the ongoing evolution of the global scientific community.
