Huai Jinpeng Engages with Education Ministers from Central Asia

From May 12 to 13, 2025, Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng held discussions with several education ministers from Central Asia, including Hussain Saraf of Iran, Shumamurad Gurbanguerdiev of Turkmenistan, Andrei Ivanets of Belarus, and Ghani Beisembayev of Kazakhstan. These meetings aimed to enhance bilateral educational exchanges and collaborative efforts among the nations involved.

Minister Huai Jinpeng highlighted that, driven by the strategic direction and personal commitment of President Xi Jinping and other world leaders, the cooperation in education between China and Central Asian nations, as well as those in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), is accelerating. He expressed China's willingness to deepen practical collaboration across multiple educational domains, including higher education, basic education, vocational training, digital learning, and language instruction, within the frameworks of both bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Furthermore, the attending education ministers expressed sincere gratitude towards China for its significant contributions to the establishment of the China-Central Asia Education Ministers Meeting mechanism and its involvement in the SCO Member States' Education Ministers Conference. They conveyed a shared commitment to collaborate closely, actively engage in learning from China's educational experiences, and to foster institutional and personnel exchanges.

The ministers emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and cultural exchanges across various educational fields. They expressed a strong desire to continuously develop plans that lead to new achievements and breakthroughs in their collaborative efforts.

This gathering marks a critical step toward enhancing educational ties in the region, with potential long-term benefits for academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among the participating countries.

The Ministry of Education will continue to facilitate these interactions and work towards creating an enriching educational environment that benefits both China and Central Asia.
