Application Notice for Zheli Zhihua Sino-Foreign Program 2026

A layered landscape with academic symbols; books, globe.

Zhejiang University is excited to announce the commencement of the application process for the 2026 'Know China in Zhejiang' project aimed at foreign students. This initiative seeks to promote an understanding of China through an educational framework, supporting a deeper appreciation for the country's rich culture and current developments. Applications for this program will be accepted from March 26 to April 10, 2026.

This undertaking aligns with national educational goals, particularly those elucidated in Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, as well as directives from the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. The university intends to implement the 'Education Power Construction Plan Outline (2024-2035)', aimed at establishing a prominent global education center.

The strategic focus of this project emphasizes nurturing innovative talent with a global perspective while strengthening education about China's national conditions, thereby serving essential national strategies. Collected insights will guide the development of a high-quality education system reflective of Zhejiang University's unique characteristics.

Regarding the application details, it is critical to note that each college or department is advised to submit only one application item. This rule ensures a streamlined approach to the selection process and effective project management across the university.

The timeline for application submissions is specifically outlined. Applications must be submitted electronically alongside a signed scanned copy of the required application form by April 10, 2026, to the designated email address.

Each department is encouraged to leverage its specific disciplinary strengths when designing activities centered on national conditions education, in accordance with directives from the Ministry of Education. Initiatives must focus on fostering international students' comprehensive understanding of Chinese culture, modern achievements, and the unique pathways of Chinese-style modernization.

Projects should encompass diverse topics, ranging from traditional Chinese cultural experiences to studies on contemporary governance and social practices, integrating both Chinese and international students into the educational experience. A minimum participation of five international students from the respective department is necessary for project eligibility.

The project approval process includes several stages. After applications are submitted, experts will evaluate the proposed initiatives, announce the reviewing panel, and allocate funding to selected projects. The financial standard includes funding for key projects amounting to 10,000 yuan, while general projects will receive 5,000 yuan.

Following project implementation, departments are required to submit a summary report on their activities. Additionally, departments should provide regular updates during the project's lifecycle to ensure ongoing communication and promotion of exceptional projects via the university's official channels.

For detailed instructions, an attachment containing the application form for the 2026 'Zhè Lǐ Zhī Huá' International and Domestic Students National Conditions Education Program accompanies this announcement. This initiative is an excellent opportunity for international students to actively engage and participate in a profound educational journey at Zhejiang University.
