On March 27, a delegation from the Sabah Independent Chinese Secondary Schools' Board of Directors made an official visit to the International School at Zhejiang University. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Chen Ye and Chen Nanfay, the deputy deans of the International School, at the Zijingang Campus. The discussions focused on fostering educational cooperation, enhancing Chinese language education, and facilitating student exchanges between China and Malaysia.

The delegation's visit included a tour of the Zhejiang University campus and its international student dormitories, allowing them to observe the educational environment and facilities firsthand. Following this campus tour, a meeting was held at the International Education College. Here, Chen Nanfeng extended a warm welcome to the visitors and provided an extensive overview of Zhejiang University's history, its various disciplines, and its international education efforts.

During the meeting, Chen Nanfeng highlighted vital aspects such as the international student training system and the promotion of the "Studying Abroad at Zhejiang University" initiative. Chen Ye presented an in-depth look at the university's international student recruitment strategies, including details about application processes, scholarship offerings, and tailored training programs designed for Chinese high school students in Sabah. She reaffirmed the university's commitment to attracting talented students from Sabah and pledged to enhance services to improve the study abroad experience for Malaysian students.

The discussions also delved into collaborative efforts regarding the sharing of Chinese language education resources and potential short-term exchange programs for students. This exchange of ideas set a constructive tone for future collaboration.

Zhang Jiazhao, a representative of the Sabah Independent Chinese Schools' Board of Trustees, expressed his gratitude for the reception and shared insights into the unique characteristics of Chinese independent schools in Sabah. He underscored the importance of preserving Chinese culture through education and nurturing local talent.

Zhang emphasized the need to strengthen ties with Zhejiang University, particularly in enhancing teacher and student exchanges, developing pathways for further education, and cooperating on curriculum development. His vision is to create additional opportunities for Sabah students to advance their studies at Zhejiang University.

This visit significantly enhanced mutual understanding between Zhejiang University and the Chinese education community in Malaysia. It lays a robust groundwork for expanding practical cooperation between the university and Chinese schools in Sabah, promoting deeper educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In conclusion, the visit reflects the ongoing commitment to international education collaboration and its potential to bridge educational experiences across borders, enriching the academic journeys of students from Sabah and beyond.
